The coded and conventions of a newspaper advert would be that there has to be a large iconic image which will draw in the attention to the image which will intrigue people to find out what it is advertising. Normally on an advert for a documentary on tv there is a block of colour behind the title and information so that it stands out and so that the readers are drawn to the information so that they want to read it. The slogan which is on the advert anchors the meaning of the image it is also normally a witty comment which relates to the programme. The examples which have been given all have the lower left hand corner,
The schedule information includes the day, date and time. this is obviously useful so that you know when it is going to be on tv so that you can watch it and you also know how to find it. The logo for the channel is also on the advert in a place where you can see it clearly it is also in the same colour as the block behind the text, this shows continuity.
